At the tender age of three, Johnna Phelps began dancing. She has more than 15 years of experience in ballet, tap, jazz, and dance training. Johnna was a cheerleader for five years while attending middle school and through her participation on a varsity and all-star cheer squad. She also has eight years of experience doing gymnastics. Johnna was named a UCA All-Star in 1997-1998, and also a Macys Day Parade performer in 1999.
Additionally, Johnna was a North Laurel Varsity dance team member for two years and member of the Murray State University Dance Company in 2001. She is currently the coach and choreographer at North Laurel High School where her teams were named KDCO region champions for 8 years straight, received numerous grand champion awards, and were the 2009 hip-hop state champions (beating out over 20 other teams for the title). Johnna is currently coaching the studio All-star teams at Rhythm, where she was the pom choreographer for the 2015 National Championship Mini Pom Team and 2018 US Finals Junior Pom Champions. Furthermore, Johnna has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Western Kentucky University and a Master's degree in Communication Disorders from Eastern Kentucky University.
